The owner of this rare car, which was fully restored in 2024 by Uematsu Corporation, a company specializing in the sale of old Japanese motorcycles, asked us to boldly apply the expression of modern art by UNDULATION to the entire body of the car. One of the main themes of UNDULATION is to express Japanese Shinto symbolism, and it has a wonderful affinity with purely domestic motorcycles. The Z1 is praised as one of the most famous Japanese motorcycles of all time, and its Japanese identity and the reasons for its truly Japanese character, in other words, "wabi-sabi," "yugen," and above all, "Koetsu no aesthetics," became even clearer to me.
